About this opportunity

Milemarker, Inc. is hiring a VP of Operations to lead its day-to-day operations from Charleston, South Carolina, with a hybrid or fully remote arrangement. The role reports directly to the CEO and sits at the center of the company's strategic and operational decision-making. This is a senior leadership position for someone who has already run operations at scale and is ready to own the full operational picture of a growing company. The VP of Operations will work closely with the CEO to translate company goals into operational plans, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure that the business runs smoothly across departments. The hybrid setup means you'll spend part of your week in Charleston and part working remotely, with the option to work fully remote if that suits your situation better. Charleston offers a mild climate year-round, a growing tech and business community, and a lower cost of living than major coastal hubs like New York or San Francisco. South Carolina has no state income tax on personal income, which adds to the financial appeal of basing yourself there. Milemarker, Inc. operates in the education and customer support space, with a footprint that touches marketing, finance, sales, and design. The company's tagline hints at a broad operational scope, and the VP of Operations will be expected to bring structure and efficiency to all of it. This is not a role for someone who wants to stay in a narrow lane. It requires comfort with ambiguity, a willingness to dig into details across departments, and the ability to think strategically about how each part of the business fits together. This role is best suited for an experienced operations leader with a track record of managing teams and driving process improvement. If you have spent years building systems, optimizing workflows, and leading people, and you want a role where you report directly to the CEO and shape the direction of the company, this is worth a serious look.
