About this opportunity

Opportunity Overview

Tata Consultancy Services is hiring an SAP professional with 7 to 12 years of experience to work across SAP CALM, ILM, and LAMA modules. The role sits within TCS's consulting practice, where the company builds and runs enterprise systems for some of the largest companies in the world. You would be working on data lifecycle management, cloud application lifecycle management, and legacy application modernization for TCS clients. TCS is one of the largest IT services firms on the planet, employing over 600,000 people across more than 50 countries. Headquartered in Mumbai, India, the company has been a dominant force in enterprise technology for over five decades. It is known for taking on complex, large-scale digital transformation projects for banks, retailers, manufacturers, and governments. Working here means being part of a massive global delivery network, with teams spread across India, the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The company invests heavily in training and internal mobility, so long-term employees often move between projects, technologies, and even countries. The role itself is technical and hands-on. SAP CALM handles the lifecycle of cloud-based SAP systems, from provisioning to retirement. ILM governs how data is retained, archived, and eventually deleted to meet legal and regulatory requirements. LAMA, which stands for Legacy Application Modernization Assessment, is about analyzing old systems and planning how to move them to modern platforms. If you have deep experience in these areas, you would be the person clients call when they need to clean up their data, move to the cloud, or retire outdated systems without losing critical information. India remains the heart of TCS operations, and most of these roles are based in cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, and Kolkata. The work culture is structured, with formal processes, clear hierarchies, and a strong emphasis on certifications and continuous learning. Cost of living varies sharply by city, but a professional with 7 to 12 years of experience typically earns a solid middle-class income that supports a comfortable lifestyle. The climate ranges from humid coastal heat in Chennai to the more temperate weather of Bengaluru and Pune. For international applicants, TCS routinely sponsors work visas for senior technical roles, though most hiring for this kind of position happens locally in India.
