A consumer goods company is hiring a Junior Account Manager to support its national retail accounts, with a focus on grocery and wholesale customers. The position sits within the Sales team and works closely with internal departments like Marketing, Category, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Service. The day-to-day work centers on hitting sales and profit targets, ensuring new products launch smoothly, and managing promotional budgets. You will prepare account reviews, track monthly forecasts against actual point-of-sale reports, and monitor key performance indicators like fill rate and in-stock percentage. A big part of the job involves negotiating with retailer contacts, including buyers and merchants, to secure better shelf space, distribution, and merchandising for the company's brands. You will also analyze syndicated market data from sources like Circana/IRI or NielsenIQ to spot trends and build strategies. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience in account management, sales analysis, or FMCG sales, plus a bachelor's degree in business, commerce, marketing, or a related field. Experience working with major grocery chains, wholesale customers, military accounts, or distributors is required. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential, as is the ability to interpret sales data and turn insights into clear recommendations. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer locations are also required. Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and profit targets
- Ensure flawless implementation of all new product development and achievement of required distribution objectives
- Develop, maintain, and implement all administration for the role
- Prepare reviews for all accounts, including strategic planning and resource allocation to achieve account objectives
- Build multi-level contacts and develop productive business relationships with external customers
- Manage and control all promotion expenditure within your responsibility, in line with company guidelines, to ensure an optimum return on investment
- Develop and improve tools and systems to monitor the marketplace, brands, and competitor performance
- Collaborate and coordinate activity within internal departments, including category, customer marketing, finance, and customer services, to deliver business priorities
- Own and drive initiatives that deliver improved levels of customer service and satisfaction
- Ensure identified expenses are kept within budgeted guidelines and completed on time as required by company policy
- Ensure personal development by implementing agreed training and development objectives
- Drive off-shelf promotional programs to increase sales by developing profitable display features and winning feature space within retailer opportunities
- Implement holiday programs to grow sales and profit through global sourcing initiatives, including navigating online bid processes and guiding the organization through retailer requirements and timelines for direct import programs
- Share and leverage category success stories as thought leadership to the Trade Marketing & Sales organization, using them with other retailers to drive incremental sales
- Identify business opportunities through collaboration and optimize profitability through negotiation with retailers and the Marketing/Product Development organization, translating them into account-specific strategies that drive market share and growth
- Integrate and analyze multiple data sources to create strategies and programs that deliver win-win outcomes through innovation and collaboration with the account team
- Connect, develop, and maintain relationships with key retailer organization contacts, including buyers, merchants, modular development, replenishment, transportation, and logistics
- Build rapport, communicate strategy, and negotiate with customer decision makers to increase distribution, shelving, merchandising, and improved marketing of brands
- Analyze sales trends and supply chain efficiencies to make recommendations that maximize opportunities, while analyzing forecasting metrics and data to ensure accuracy targets are met
- Track and report monthly forecast versus actual POS reports, proactively addressing potential issues with logistics and inventory levels using monthly key performance indicators such as fill rate, in-stock percentage, and carrier on-time percentage

Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, marketing, or a related discipline
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in account management, sales analysis and support, customer management, or FMCG/consumer goods sales
- Experience working with major retail grocery chains, wholesale customers, military accounts, or distributors
- Knowledge of retail sales reporting, category management principles, and promotional planning
- Familiarity with syndicated market data such as Circana/IRI or NielsenIQ is an advantage
- Strong commercial awareness and an interest in developing a career in Key Account Management
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Open and accessible communication style, with the ability to consistently achieve positive results
- Comprehensive knowledge of the consumer products industry, the category, brand strategies, competitors, and classes of trade, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and translate insights into recommendations
