Referent*in (d/w/m) Beruf & Orientierung

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Germany is hiring a Referent*in (d/w/m) for Beruf & Orientierung (Career & Orientation) to be based in Güstrow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, with work covering the district and city of Rostock. The position starts no earlier than September 15, 2026, is full-time (40 hours per week), and is initially limited to 14 months. The role is part of the "PRIMA-Lab" project, which supports people with refugee and migration backgrounds who have visible or invisible disabilities in entering the labor market. The project is funded by the EU and the German Federal Government (BMAS) through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), and is implemented together with a partner in Güstrow and the Rostock area. The person in this role will develop accessible, language-sensitive learning and qualification materials, create self-learning resources and guides, and help organize training formats for various target groups. The focus is on inclusive, barrier-reduced design and psychosocial support. You will also help develop awareness and training offers for professionals, employers, partner organizations, and migrant self-organizations, and support individual social-pedagogical accompaniment and coordination of program activities with project partners and counseling centers. IRC was founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein and is one of the world's largest international humanitarian non-governmental organizations, working in more than 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities. IRC Germany was established in 2016 and works in the areas of education, career and orientation, protection, legal counseling, and participation. The organization helps people affected by political crises, war, persecution, and natural disasters to restore health, safety, education, and economic wellbeing. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is Germany's northeasternmost state, known for its Baltic Sea coast, lakes, and quieter pace of life. Güstrow is a mid-sized town about 40 kilometers south of Rostock, with a historic old town and a reasonable cost of living compared to larger German cities. The region has a growing need for integration services, and the work culture at IRC emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and a commitment to inclusion. German language skills at C1 level are required, and English at B2, so applicants should be comfortable working in a German-speaking environment.
