About this opportunity

Opportunity Overview

A company with employees spread across more than 30 states is hiring an HR Benefits Coordinator to take full ownership of its benefits function. This is not an entry-level role. The person in this position will run everything from health insurance and 401(k) administration to leave management and regulatory compliance, while also building the systems and processes that will let the benefits team grow. The core of the job is fixing and stabilizing benefits programs that need structure. The company is looking for someone who can step into an environment where benefits administration has been under-managed, bring order to it, and create scalable processes that will hold up as the workforce expands. That means documenting how things work, building internal controls, and making sure every piece of the benefits puzzle is accurate and compliant, not just processed. Day to day, this person is the go-to expert for all benefits questions. They handle escalated employee issues, work with insurance brokers and retirement plan advisors, and translate complicated plan language into communications that regular employees can actually understand. They also partner closely with payroll to make sure deductions, enrollments, and life events are processed correctly across a multi-state workforce. The company operates across more than 30 states, which means the person in this role must navigate a patchwork of state-specific leave laws, insurance regulations, and compliance requirements. Working with a multi-state workforce also means dealing with different state leave programs, varying insurance markets, and the administrative complexity that comes with each jurisdiction. This is a role for someone who enjoys owning complex programs and making them run smoothly.
