Beijing Foreign Studies University Stipend Scholarships 2027 in China

The Beijing Government Scholarship at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) is now accepting applications for the Spring 2027 intake. The deadline is 30 November 2026. This scholarship supports international students across foundation, bachelor's, master's, doctoral, exchange, and visiting programmes. BFSU is one of China's most prestigious language and international studies universities. It has trained generations of diplomats, translators, and business leaders since its founding in 1941. The university operates more than 100 programmes and hosts students from over 100 countries. It is known for its strength in foreign languages, international relations, and area studies, making it a top choice for students aiming at careers in diplomacy, global business, or academia. The scholarship comes in three tiers. Category A is the most generous, covering full tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend, and medical insurance. Category B covers tuition, accommodation support, and insurance. Category C covers tuition and insurance only. Most newly admitted undergraduate, master's, and non-degree students should expect Category C, not the fully funded Category A. The award is valid for one academic year and is not automatically renewed. Living in Beijing is affordable compared to Western capitals. Monthly costs typically run ¥2,500 to ¥4,500, roughly $350 to $630 USD. University dormitories are the cheapest option. The city has an excellent metro and high-speed rail network, and mobile payment is accepted almost everywhere. Winters are cold and dry, summers hot and humid. International students on X1 or X2 visas can apply for a work permit through the university for part-time or internship work, which helps offset living costs.
